Domino effect

Hello everyone...  It's funday Monday.....

I have decided this week to stay with Josh which means a little less flexibility time wise for food....  So today dinner consisted of a salad (which we made a HUGE bowl of yesterday) roasted brussel sprouts and summer squash...  WW had a recipe for the veggies, I just grab what's on sale.

Slice the brussel spouts in half and lay flat side down
slice squash, or zucchini in 1/4" diagonal pieces
bell peppers (what ever color you like)
canned, drained, (non marinated) artichoke hearts
large red onion

In a large bowl toss all veggies that you're going to use with 2 tsp olive oil salt and pepper to taste, and rosemary ( I prefer to use either Mrs. Dash, or McCormicks Italian seasoning blend)

Pre heat oven to 450 and cook for 20 minutes, then flip over and cook 10 minutes more.

Enjoy!!!

One serving is one point.  woo hooo!!

This has become my favorite side dish when I need something to go with a meat dish...  Tonight's was, boneless, skinless, chicken breasts with Teriyaki marinade and a little extra onion powder sprinkled on top before going on the Foreman Grill.

I got to save half my breast and add a little extra marinade to it so I can have a chicken topped salad for lunch tomorrow.

I am super excited to say that my best friend has now signed up or WW Online, and a few more co-workers have signed up in the last week...  My life and surroundings are becoming more and more safe....Even Josh is liking the variety of the food we're having and the benefits he's getting even if it is second hand WW...

OK, tomorrow is walk and stairs day, last big push before the 6:30 am weight in on Wed.

Loving the support

Ok, today is the first day of my blogging about my experience with weight watchers....  The things I'm eating, NOT eating and the foods I'm cooking and loving!!!

I joined Weight Watchers on 2/1/2011, my start weight (can't believe I'm posting this) was 288, the lady kindly said, I NEVER have to see that number again, and I "knew I was home"....I got my book, all my starter information packs and my daily points goal started at 45 per day, with an additional 49 for the week, which everyone gets.
I have quite a few friends who have had great success with the WW program, and with the new PointsPlus program, where most fresh fruits and vegetables are zero points, how can you go wrong?!?!

So week one, I dropped 9lbs
Week two, I dropped 3 lbs
and week three I dropped 6 and change...

Totaling, after only three weeks 18lbs.  CRAZY!!!  Now, some will say it's all water weight, and they're entitled to their opinions, I however believe there is some real weight loss here.

I have made an effort to become more active too, not anything crazy yet, but I am taking the 4 flights of stairs at least once a day, I walk with a co-worker daily for our breaks, and I try to get out and take Noodle (my dog) for a long walk at least twice a week.

So, as for food....  What I'm NOT eating:

No more Del Taco three to four times a week, no more McDonalds for breakfast two to three times per week, and no more Sombrero's for late night dinners.....  Also, I am not eating as much candy as I did before.

So, what am I eating?

So much food it's crazy!!  And I love it!!!

Lots of fruit, I go to Senor Mangos in North Park at least once a week, and get their large Pico de Gallo (watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumber, jicama, mango, and oranges) then I eat it (usually a third of it) with a half cup of low fat cottage cheese....  Gotta get my protein somewhere..

But, like tonight, dinner was a salad, a grilled turkey burger w/fat free sharp cheddar cheese, grilled mushrooms and 1/4 of a sliced avocado with mustard on an Orowheat sandwich thin.  Baked french fries which consisted of one whole russet potato, one yam, and one sweet potato all sliced and seasoned with Sea Salt & Pepper and baked on a non stick cookie sheet that I sprayed olive oil on first...  They were SUPER yummy!!!   Sounds like a huge meal right, well, it was and it was awesome!!!  and The total for this meal was only 19 points....  woo hoo!!!

So, here's the deal...  As I try new things and reach new goals, or hurdles I will post them on here vs. Facebook.

If nothing else, I hope my experience can benefit others.
